VicRoads has developed this set of VCAL Road Safety Units for teachers and practitioners delivering the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) in schools and other educational settings. The resource focuses on young driver safety issues and aims to assist young people to enter the road system as safe and responsible drivers. The units have been designed and developed to integrate learning outcomes in Literacy, Numeracy and Personal Development Skills across all levels of VCAL – Foundation, Intermediate and Senior.
Consumer Affairs Victoria has developed curriculum resources that are aligned to the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) and the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) Literacy and Numeracy strands. The materials focus on life skills that enable young people to become smart consumers.

Essi money - an online e-learning game developed by the Financial Basics Foundation that allows participants to achieve an understanding of the basic concepts surrounding financial management, in the areas of Earning (Employment, Centrelink, Interest and return on investments, entrepreneur), Saving (bank accounts, cash, goals), Spending (living expenses, fuel, food, entertainment, rent, mobile phones, credit and credit cards, buying a car, insurance), and Investing (scams, bank accounts, goals, risk vs yeild, shares, credit and borrowing).
The game simulates financial transactions over a 26 week period, enabling students to achieve an understanding of how decisions made throughout a time period can have both positive and negative impacts on their financial situation. Students will experience some of the day-today issues that most people must cope with in their financial life. Registering and playing ESSI Money is free for schools and not-for-profit organisations.
